ILFA invites distinguished personalities from the region and abroad who have made a difference and left an undeniable mark on their societies. This module aims to gather their personal experiences and knowledge, so as to advance
leadership imperatives for a political renewal. These imperatives shall focus on the construction of a new code of values, incentives and political vision that will encourage exceptional young individuals to engage their capacity in the private, public, social and intellectual arenas.

“Enrique V. Iglesias: Humanism Award”

The Forum seeks to provide incentives for leadership by recognizing individuals who have advanced civic culture based on transparency, accountability, reciprocity, and consistency. These principles form the prerequisites of honest leadership, solid democratic institutions, social inclusion, and equitable economic growth. An annual award will be granted to an individual from the Americas who embody these criteria and has made a significant contribution to good governance and institutional consolidation in the Western Hemisphere.

“President Aylwin Award: Recognition of Excellence in Political Leadership”

Forum Americas Annual Awards will be granted to individuals from the Americas who exemplify the abovementioned criteria and make a significant contribution to good governance and institutional consolidation in the Western Hemisphere.

Round-table: Alejandro Foxley, Chair: Former Minister of Finance, Chilean Senator; Discussion among distinguished leaders from the public, private and civil sectors of the Americas.

Interactive Discussion via videoconference with emerging leaders from Generation 2020. Simultaneous sessions with 10 countries from the region and Iberian Peninsula.

Through the Agenda of the Americas 2020, ILFA seeks to secure the commitment of the generations, to envision the Americas of the year 2020. Towards the launching of the Americas 2020 in the 2006 plenary, ILFA’s constituencies will also benefit from the contributions of several National Agendas aiming to the year 2020. National agendas will identify and act upon actions at the state-level, to provide a much needed platform, from which leaders can envisage the type of society that will respond to concrete needs, encompass widely held values, deliver measurable results, and restore citizens’ confidence.
